Hello,

My set up :
two dish one is Tata Sky and other is DM 500S for dialog TV ( Sri Lanka )
both LNB are attach to 1 X4 DisEqc one cable comes out ( from 1X4 )
I am changing main cable to each receiver to watch either Tata sky ( India ) or Dialog Tv ( Sri Lanka ) .No signal lose . Both sat very clear .

I wanted to avoid connecting and disconnecting main cable to each receiver so I install 1X2 switch with toggle so I can flip the toggle between receiver .In Market I got is 2LNB in and one out to receiver. ( please see attachment )

I wanted one in and two out ( each goes to two receiver ) , so I use this switch anyway ( just reverses witch upside down ) and it worked but I lose 50 % of channels with very little or NO signals .

As soon as I remove 1X2 switch and back to changing main cable to each receiver then everything back to normal.

Can some body help me to suggest that ,what kind of switch should I use
so by flipping toggle button I can watch one or the other sat without losing signals ?

Thanks

m8s try this press blue button then go to sat config then goto LNB setting then non-standard then go to next, now the setting goes like this your LNB 1 it should be AA then LNB 2 AB,LNB 3 BA and LNB 4 is BB, this is the port assignment of your 1 X4 DisEqc for dm-500s,otherwise we have also a tutorial section of dm-500s just be patient to read those tips, hope it will help you...regards..

Hello,

Thanks for your reply.
I have done exactly the same way you suggesated. My problem lies with second switch 1X2 ,When I install that switch I lose 50 % signals on DM 500S and when I remove everything works fine !!
I am looking for a switch which I can install , flip toggle on 1X2 switch to watch either sat,( instead of removing main cable from one receiver to another .) without losing signals.

any suggestion please let me know .

Thanks again.

Da procedure above dobhan told u is right abt 4 input and one out to single stb

if u r using 2 stbs on single lnb on each satellites then u hav to use double lnb means 2 way out for both stbs same time from lnb.
on single lnb each sat u can watch vertical or horizontal channels same time on both stb's.
sometime signal quality comes weaker if u make joint in cabel b/w lnb and stb eg Desiq switch.

Dear brother brainking
Do not try this method as I seen ur post. It is not possible also there is a chance that both of ur STB's might get damage due to short circuit. I done almost a similar experiments few years before but result was not up to mark U will always loss signals & even some channels won't work for U even though they have high signals in normal condition. If U want to do according to ur mention method then buy two pin out LNB's for both satellite & attach separate diseque switch to each of the receiver & enjoy

What will U say if I mention U that I have two 2 ways out LNB's of C-Band & two, 2 pin out LNB's of KU-Band for last almost 5 years without having any issue or fault? I also seen in our area cable TV office where they are also having 2 pin (C-Band), 4 (KU-Band) pin & even 8 (KU-Band) pin LNB's working 24/7 & attached with multiple STB's & never appear any kind of fault
